Jimanekia Eborn Blossoms – Ep 11

Jimanekia Eborn Blossoms - Ep 11

Jimanekia Eborn, trauma specialist and founder of Tending the Garden, joins us again to process her life story from the previous episode. After witnessing her mother’s murder at age one, Jimanekia’s inner child has had a lot of healing to do. But she candidly tells us that self-healing has not always been on the forefront of her mind. In her early years, many times, she admits to going off course down roads that led to more trauma for herself. Other times, through her work in the mental health industry, she has put another survivor’s healing before her own. Regardless, she explains that she has always had the instinct to “make her mommy proud” and so both her self-healing and her vision for helping others has persevered. In this episode, we talk about everything from her unexpected connection to pro wrestling, her philosophy on the importance of positive destruction along with her desire to “fuck up and rebuild the sex ed community”, a rally cry that all three of us can get behind for the good of humankind. Finally, she fleshes out her vision for the future that includes continuing her crucial life’s work with Tending the Garden. Please join us for another captivating episode of Open Deeply.
